This Privacy Policy explains what information the Photo Compressor app for iPhone (“the App”) uses, why it is used, and what choices you have. On the iPhone Home Screen the App is named PhotoCompressor. The App is developed by Levmer Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy applies to the App and to any emails you send us about it.
At a glance
- Your photos are compressed on your iPhone. We never upload them, and we cannot see them.
- Choosing a photo uses Apple’s private picker. The App does not ask to browse your whole library just to open a photo.
- Saving asks for permission to add the result to Photos. Full library access is requested only if you turn on Delete original photos.
- There is no account and we do not run our own servers.
- The free version uses a rewarded ad from Google AdMob so you can save. Up to three completed ads are available each calendar day.
- The App does not request permission to track you, so the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not made available through the App.
- Premium is sold and billed by Apple. We never receive your payment details.
1. Who is responsible
Levmer Studios is responsible for the processing described in this policy, except where Google or Apple decide on their own how to use the information they collect. In those cases they act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

2. Your photos
When you tap Select Photo(s), iOS shows its own photo picker. You choose what to open. The App receives the file you selected and compresses it on the device. It can change the file size, the output format, and, with Premium, the dimensions as a percentage of the original. It does not send the photo to us. An animated image, such as a GIF, is opened as a still image.
Saving the result asks for permission to add photos to your library. That permission is used only to write the compressed photo into Photos. If you deny it, nothing is saved.
Delete original photos. This choice appears when you save, not in Settings. If you turn it on, the App asks for full photo access and removes the source photos when iOS allows it. iOS may ask you to confirm each deletion. If you refuse full access, or if the original cannot be matched, the compressed photo can still be saved and the original stays in your library. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for about 30 days.
Metadata. If you turn on Remove metadata, the saved photo is written again without details such as where it was taken, when, and which camera was used. If that option is off, those details can remain in the saved file. Your photos and their metadata are never used for advertising.
We do not upload, copy, sell or share your photos or their metadata.
3. Information stored on your device
The App saves a small amount of information locally on your iPhone so it can remember how you use it. That includes:
- your settings, such as compression level, output format, resize percentage, light or dark appearance, metadata removal, and whether you asked to delete originals;
- a history of up to 40 successful saves, including the photo name, the file sizes and a small thumbnail;
- how many rewarded ads you have finished on the current calendar day;
- whether you have already been asked to rate the App;
- whether Premium is active, as reported by Apple on this device.
This information stays on your device. We cannot access it. Deleting the App removes it. The first time you open the App, a short introduction is shown. That introduction is only a record on the device that you have already seen it.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Unless Premium is active, saving a compressed photo asks you to watch a short rewarded ad. A finished view counts toward a daily limit of three. An ad that you leave before it finishes, or that does not load, does not use one of those three. When none remain, saving that day requires Premium.
Ads are served by Google through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. According to Google’s disclosures, the SDK may send Google your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, ad views and taps, and diagnostics related to the SDK.
Google uses this information to show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud, and maintain its services. Google’s use of this information is governed by its own policies:
Google Privacy Policy
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
How Google uses information for advertising
No cross-app tracking. The App does not show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
Your choices. Premium removes ads. You can also manage Google ad settings at My Ad Center.
5. Purchases
Weekly Premium is an auto-renewable subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Both are processed by Apple’s In-App Purchase system using StoreKit on your device. The price shown in the App is the price Apple provides for your App Store account. Apple handles your billing information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment card or other payment details. The App checks with StoreKit whether Premium is active. Apple provides us with sales reports that do not identify you personally.
6. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to include, such as screenshots. We use this only to reply and to fix problems. We keep it only as long as reasonably needed for that purpose, unless the law requires longer.
7. What we do not do
- We do not have user accounts or our own servers.
- We do not run a separate analytics product of our own. If you choose to share analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us. Those reports do not identify you.
- We do not upload, sell, rent or share your photos.
- We do not sell your personal information.
8. Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Türkiye or another region with similar laws, we rely on contract (to provide the features you use and, if you buy it, Premium), legitimate interests (to offer a free ad-supported save and to answer support mail), consent where advertising law requires it, and legal obligations where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
9. How long information is kept
- Photos: never stored or received by us.
- Information on your device: until you delete the App, or until a history entry is replaced after 40 saves.
- Emails: only as long as reasonably needed to handle your request.
- Advertising data: kept by Google under its own retention rules.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK (Türkiye), LGPD (Brazil) and US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, to opt out of targeted advertising, and to complain to your local authority.
Because we do not keep a profile of you on our servers, deleting the App removes the data it stores. For information Google holds for advertising, use Google’s tools. For emails you sent us, contact us and we will respond within the time required by law.
11. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
Google may process advertising data in the United States and other countries, using safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Emails you send us are stored by our email provider, which may also process them outside your country.
13. Security
Your photos stay on your device and remain protected by iOS. We take reasonable care with the emails you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
14. Changes
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The new version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
